متن کاملWeakly bound dimers of fermionic atoms.
We discuss the behavior of weakly bound bosonic dimers formed in a two-component cold Fermi gas at a large positive scattering length a for the interspecies interaction. We find the exact solution for the dimer-dimer elastic scattering and obtain a strong decrease of their collisional relaxation and decay with increasing a. The large ratio of the elastic to inelastic rate is promising for achie...
متن کاملObservation of an Efimov resonance in an ultracold mixture of atoms and weakly bound dimers
We discuss our recent observation of an atom-dimer Efimov resonance in an ultracold mixture of Cs atoms and Cs2 Feshbach molecules [Nature Phys. 5, 227 (2009)]. We review our experimental procedure and present additional data involving a non-universal g-wave dimer state, to contrast our previous results on the universal s-wave dimer. We resolve a seeming discrepancy when quantitatively comparin...
متن کاملPlasma-wall transition in weakly collisional plasmas
This paper reviews some theoretical and computational aspects of plasma-wall interactions, in particidar the formation of sheaths. Some fundamental residts are derived analytically using a simple fluid model, and are subsequently tested with kinetic simulations. The various regions composing the plasma-wall transition (Debye sheath, colUsional and magnetic presheaths) are discussed in details.
